Born and raised on a family farm in Indiana, Matthew Kirkpatrick has dedicated more than 35 years to the agricultural industry, including 23 years with Monsanto/Bayer. He currently serves as Senior Director of Marketing for PhycoTerra.
Matt began his career in the seed corn business with AgriGold Hybrids in sales and sales management. In 1997, he joined Asgrow as an Area Sales Manager for Southern Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Following the integration of the Asgrow and DEKALB brands into Monsanto, he served as Business Team Lead for Southern Illinois (1999–2002) before moving into U.S. Operations, where he delivered multiple achievements in Supply Chain Management and National Accounts Operations.
In 2007, Matt returned to field sales as Area Business Manager for the Nebraska East Sales Team. Two years later, he joined the U.S. marketing organization as Corn Traits Marketing Manager, leading launches of several key innovations, including Genuity SmartStax, Genuity VT Double PRO, and Genuity RIB Complete (Refuge in a Bag).
From 2012 to 2016, Matt helped develop and lead the Geographic Marketing Manager (GMM) function, integrating Brand, Geo, and Distribution teams. In 2016, he assumed responsibility for the multi-brand seed strategy in the U.S., later expanding to Canada and Latin America North. After Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto, he moved into a Global Commercial Strategy role in early 2019, representing North America on a global team and supporting the implementation of global initiatives. Matt left Bayer in 2020 to join Farmers Business Network as Regional Sales Director before coming to PhycoTerra in May 2024.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sales and Marketing from Purdue University. Matt lives in Chesterfield, Missouri, with his wife, Tricia, and their four children.
